Announcement PDF 5th February 2016 ASX Release NOTICE OF ALLOWANCE RECEIVED FROM THE US PATENT OFFICE ON THE USE OF MONEPANTEL IN CANCER PharmAust Limited (“PharmAust”) (ASX: PAA) is pleased to report that its key patent “Kinase Inhibitors for the Treatment of Cancer” (14/387,270) has been examined and allowed for issuance in the USA by the United States Trademark And Patent Office. This patent governs the use of the Novartis veterinary drug, monepantel, in the treatment of both human and canine cancers. PharmAust has an “Option to Licence Agreement” with Novartis Animal Health for the use of this intellectual property in the treatment of veterinary cancers. PharmAust’s Chairman, Dr Roger Aston said: “This is the first of a series of patent applications applied for by the Company which are proceeding towards allowance in the USA and other territories on the use of aminoacetonitriles in cancer.
